Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
Where did the information on this database come from?
A:
All latex information on this database came directly from
documentation provided by the pharmaceutical manufacturers.
Q:
What types of products are included in your database?
A:
The majority of the database concerns the latex content
of injectable pharmaceutical products. Our database easily contains
greater than ninety percent of all injectables on the U.S. market.
In addition, other dosage forms are included if there is a risk
of latex content.
Q:
Who started and operates LatexDrugs?
A:
Our "Contact Us" page tells you more about our small company, 2RPh,
that takes pride in providing a quality resource and great customer service for our subscribers. We enjoy speaking with
our peers and finding new ways to make LatexDrugs even better.
Q:
Can you give me some customer references?
A:
We do not offer references currently whereas we have a strong customer privacy policy. However, we are proud to be
able to say that we have a 90% annual renewal rate which speaks volumes about our customers' satisfaction.
Q:
How may we contact you with other questions?
A:
Our "Contact Us" page provides you with this information. One of the major advantages to LatexDrugs.com
is that it is operated by institutional pharmacists. Please understand that we do not have a customer service phone number, but we
take pride in answering the emails very promptly and would be glad to speak with you over the phone.
Q:What
is your definition of a product containing latex?
A:
If a manufacturer states that their product contains any amount
of latex, natural rubber, or dry natural rubber, our database
will have a "YES" in the "Contain Latex?"
field.
Q:Could
dry natural rubber cause an anaphylactic reaction?
A:
Since dry natural rubber is derived from latex, it can
contain some of the same impurities, although to a lesser extent.
Q:
Can I check out the database before I subscribe?
A:
Yes. Go to the "Guest Entry"
page and you will have to access to a portion of the information
offered. Only Apotex products are available to you for
assessment of the user-friendliness and reliability of our database.
Once you subscribe, you will have access to the entire database.
Q:
How often is the information updated?
A:
Because changes may occur in the manufacturing process, all information
is updated at least on an annual basis. However, many companies
will be reviewed multiple times a year to assure reliability.
There is a "last updated" field on every drug record
stating the date the record was last confirmed.
Q:
Who can sign up?
A:
The site was designed for any healthcare professionals who desire
access to the information. The annual subscription fee is intended
to encompass your entire institution versus individuals so that
any co-workers (pharmacists, nurses, doctors, etc.) may have access.
Therefore, the intention is for the institution to pay
for the subscription. However, individuals are certainly welcome to and have subscribed.
Q:
What is the cost for the LatexDrugs annual subscription?
A:
The subscription cost is only $700 per institution per year for ALL employees to utilize. Each individual facility in a health-system is considered an institution in terms of pricing.
Q:
What forms of payment are acceptable?
A:
We accept checks and all major credit cards.
Q:
Can buying groups or health systems purchase multiple LatexDrugs accounts and are there any pricing discounts for these purchases?
A:
Yes, and the process is very simple. There is a multi-institutional (5 or more institutions) subscription program
that offers a very competitive discount. Please email us at registrar@latexdrugs.com for more information and we will be happy to take care of you.
Q:
Do you accept purchase orders?
A: Yes. Please enter
your PO number on the registration form or contact our registrar
via email if you wish to utilize a purchase order. We will reference
the number on our invoice and send it back to you expeditiously
via email.
Q:
Will this website be useful to me if I practice in another
country?
A:
Although it may still be of some benefit, the data is solely based
on drugs utilized by practitioners in the U.S.
Q:
I forgot my username and/or password. What is it?
A:
Email us at registrar@latexdrugs.com
and include the contact name and email address that was entered
on the registration form, institution (if applicable), and a phone
number where you may be reached if there is a problem. We will
respond with your username and password via email as soon as possible.

You can report any issues on our "Report
Errors" page.
